POLICY DEVELOPMENT

OUR PURPOSE


The Duties of the Administrative Operations Services are wide-ranging in both topic and function. Policy Development is an integral part of this operations as it sets the standards and guidelines for the functions of the Sheriff’s Office. 

One of the primary duties include developing our agency Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) and Post Orders, which are the procedures and processes by which our agency operates.   Policy maintenance, including form creation and management, is as critical to policy development as creating the policy itself.  Outdate policies are a disservice to our employees and citizens we serve.  Great policies enhance great habits, which strengthens great character.  These ingredients make for a great officer who is ready to serve.

Another key function is assisting with website content which provides accurate information to both the public and employees. HCSO's website makes information readily accessible whenever and wherever you need it.  The design and content of the website promotes transparency to our community, other law enforcement agencies, and members of the judicial system. 

Other duties include compiling data for grant and funding reimbursements to help reduce the financial burden on county taxpayers and the flexibility to respond to other agency needs.
