In an effort to control contraband, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office has restrictions on personal items brought in from outside the facility for inmates.
Effective September 2, 2014, used clothing items will no longer be accepted. Authorized clothing provided from outside MUST be new and in their original packaging. Items sold individually (such as bras or socks) MUST be new and have all the original tags attached.
Effective November 1, 2014, authorized clothing items will no longer be accepted from outside after 48 hours from the time of arrest. Clothing items received from outside before the 48 hour deadline must be new and in their original packaging. Items sold individually (such as bras or socks) MUST be new and have all the original tags attached. Inmates held beyond 48 hours may only acquire additional authorized clothing items through the Commissary.
When leaving items for an inmate, a valid government issued picture ID is required. An inmate is allowed to possess no more than FOUR each of the following authorized clothing items:
Briefs, boxers or panties (white only, no buttons, snaps, etc.)
Bras (white only, no underwire)
T-shirts (white only, no pockets, logos or tank tops)
Socks (white only)
Thermal Underwear (white or off-white)
Inmates may also have one Bible or Koran (soft back only)
The above items and all other authorized items can be purchased by the inmate through the commissary with inmate funds.

The above approved personal items may be brought to the Henry County Jail, seven days a week from 8 AM to 10 PM. Clothing items must be new. Please be aware that the jail staff may refuse to accept personal items.
