In an effort to control contraband, the Henry County Detention Center has restrictions on personal items brought in from outside the facility for inmates. When leaving items for an inmate, a valid government issued picture ID is required. An inmate is allowed to possess no more than four each of the following:
- Briefs, boxers or panties (white only, no buttons, snaps, etc.)
- Bras (white only, no underwire)
- T-shirts (white only, no pockets, logos or tank tops)
- Socks (white only)
- Thermal Underwear (white or off-white)
Inmates may also have one Bible or Koran (soft back only)
All other items must be purchased by the inmate through the commissary with inmate funds. Inmates who don't have funds in their inmate account after 14 days of incarceration will be supplied indigent kits.

The above approved personal items may be brought to the Henry County Jail, seven days a week from
8 AM to 10 PM. Items must be clean. Please be aware that the jail staff may refuse to accept personal items.
