A career in Law Enforcement offers many challenges and rewards. Most entry level positions inside the Sheriff’s Office are in the Jail Division as a detention officer.
Detention Officer applicants must:
- Be at least 20 years of age
- Be a United States Citizen
- Be a High School Graduate or possess a GED
- Not have any convictions for felonies or misdemeanor offenses involving moral turpitude
- Once hired pass and obtain Georgia Jail Officer Certification within 6 months of employment
