Telecommunications has multiple responsibilities beginning with the processing and entry of all criminal warrants received and executed by the Sheriff's Office into national, state and local data bases.  They assist local and outside agencies by providing information on outstanding warrants and warrant status.   Additionally, they perform the criminal history checks requested for employment or other functions requiring background information.  

This Unit is located on the second floor of the Sheriff's Administration area and is available to the public from 8:00 AM until 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday (except holidays).   The duties of the Telecommunications Unit include:

• Documenting all warrants received by various Courts and out of County jurisdictions information into Sheriff's Office local records database and prepares the documentation for assignment to the Sheriff's Office Warrant Unit.  
• Entering all such warrants into the Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) and the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) databases in order for this information to be disseminated to all Law Enforcement agencies. 
• Coordinate with all Courts, probation offices or Law Enforcement agencies to continuously provide information updates or status.

• Insures that the status of all warrants are properly updated and continuously insures all records kept by Telecommunications are current until closed.
